Greyline Live presents Zela

Please note this is an 18+ event

Brat-Pop duo ZELA, siblings from the North-East of England, have created a dark and imaginative brand of attitude-laced alt-electronic pop. Think Charli XCX meets Wolf Alice, with a hint of Doja Cat and Yungblud. Dirty, pulsing basslines meet distortion-soaked synths and driving, electronic drum beats, and the pair have become known for their signature use of sampling front-woman Liv Griff’s vocal and using it as an instrument in itself.

New single ‘Chaos Queen’ is Liv’s hard-hitting, vinyl-coated refusal to commit to any kind of romance beyond the chaos-fuelled antics that she enjoys so much; the self-awareness in the lyricism is bold Brat-Pop at it’s finest, and the writing & production style lean in a darker direction than previously heard from the North-Eastern siblings. Drummer Max Griff pilots the chaos with a frenzied display of live & electronic drums; a perfect example of the hybrid style that the outfit are becoming known for. Coming in at just over two minutes, ‘Chaos Queen’ is a manic anthem for the fast-living people amongst us.
