Manchester Folk Festival 2023 presents Ward Knútur Towne // Michele Stodart

Manchester Folk Festival takes place in the Northern Quarter, the vibrant musical heart of the city, at some of the most well-established and iconic music venues this area has to offer.

The festival is a rolling programme where festival wristband holders will be able to dip in and out of these legendary music venues for 3 days of the very best in English Folk and Acoustic music. All of the venues are within a short walk of each other, making it easy to move between concerts, catch up with friends, and just hang around taking in the atmosphere.

New for 2023 will be exciting international showcases, bringing in new music from around the world. We are also excited to introduce more sessions into the festival programme, alongside our traditional Singaround.

Ward Knútur Townes blends soft harmonies and intricate melodies. The trio -Lucy Ward(UK), Svavar Knútur(Iceland),and Adyn Townes (Canada) – found synergy through Global Music Match (a virtual global music sharing experiment). Their individual prowess in captivating audiences merges with their joyful camaraderie, creating an enchanting and magical experience.

Caribbean-born Michele Stodartis an award-winning solo artist, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, best known as the bassist and co-songwriter of The Magic Numbers. As a solo artist she delivers intimate, heart-wrenching live performances. Her third solo album, Invitation, is released September 2023
