Since the start of 2022, The Matchbox hit the ground running, earning themselves support slots with the likes of The K’s, The Hara and PLANET as well as performing at venues such as Manchester Academy 3 and Birmingham’s O2 Institute 3.

After a busy summer of shows, the band had their first festival slot on the Alt-Main Stage at Humber Street Sesh, a night at Hull’s legendary ‘Sesh’ at the Polar Bear and a sold-out headline show at Manchester’s 33 Oldham Street, they released their third single ‘Closure’. To celebrate the release, the band headed out on an exciting run of shows in November – which was rounded off with a busy and energetic set at one of Manchester’s finest – Night & Day Cafe. 2023 looks bright for The Matchbox, earning themselves main support with King No-One in Hull and a slot with Candid at Manchester’s Deaf Institute.’ Were Proud to have Matchbox headline the Famous Castle Manchester for an intimate gig supported by Leeds based Drella & Killer Pascal just coming off the back of a sold out show at the Kings Arms!
