The S L U I C E gate has opened

None can escape it’s wilful showers

S L U I C E* is a comedy preview compilation and good feelings get-together compiled and shaped by friendship expert Sean Morley. THE WONDERFUL PERFORMING FRIENDS

6:15pm – 7:05

JORDAN BROOKES: WAIT TILL THE GUYS HEAR ABOUT THIS

A fourth hour on the trot from Edinburgh Comedy Awards Best show nominee 2017 Jordan Brookes. Here he presents a work-in-progress of a new hour of intricately ambitious stand-up full of silly faces and unnecessary confessions, mixing the philosophical and the physical, the observational and the absurd. In last year’s show Body of Work, Brookes told a joke that caused a ripple of upset in his personal life. In this new show he explores our crippling epidemic of self-absorption and our frustrations to get our story straight, no matter how many times we go over it in our heads.

“Wildly entertaining” ★★★★ The Guardian

7:15pm – 8:05pm

SEAN MORLEY: I APOLOGISE FOR MY RECENT BEHAVIOUR

The latest genre-bending show from absurdist comedian Sean Morley.

“Creative in his outlook and bold with his audience manipulation, creating the sort of encounter you’ll talk about for some time afterwards. For that, he needs make no apologies” – Steve Bennett, Chortle

Best Show Nominee – Leicester Comedy Festival

BBC New Comedy Awards Semi-Finalist – 2015, 2016

“Thanks everyone for reading about my upcoming show. Once again I’d like to apologise how I have been behaving lately. I promise I’ve put it all behind me now and it will absolutely not affect my performance” – Sean Morley

8:15pm – 9:05pm

TOP BODYBUILDER BRIAN: LET US HAVE A GO ON YOUR LANYARD

Hardworking and extremely award winning comedian and Twitter life-coach, guru, consultant and all-round harbinger of joy, Jayne Edwards is a big deal round these parts. But a good deal bigger round Denbighshire is Top Bodybuilder Brian. From his caravan in Rhyl, he takes you on a journey through his life, loves, and the surprising health benefits of taking whey protein intravenously. STRICTLY NO NERDS.

‘At times she seems like a creation of Tim & Eric, with misplaced confidence and acts of sheer ridiculousness surprising audiences who initially took her as a strange introvert. A unique comic who tells us that the shyness is not an act, but something she has learned to bend expertly to her will’ – The Skinny

‘Her well-crafted comedic persona is a mix of clueless buffoon and delusional ego-maniac. Jayne’s closing set-piece had audience members in fits and tears.’ – The MET Studio

9:15pm – 10:05pm

FOXDOG STUDIOS

Fresh from a year of building an invoicing system for a factory in Stoke-on-Trent, IT consultants Foxdog Studios are having a party to celebrate the end of dBASE IV. Returning with more baffling technology, music, characters and a robot chef the audience control via augmented reality characters using their phones.

As heard on BBC Radio 4 extra.

Nominated Chortle award for Innovation 2016

Nominated two Malcolm Hardee awards 2016

TICKETS & ADMIN

Let’s say you can’t make them all – you have a busy life. What then?

That’s fine. You can pay for shows individually – or pay for the cost of the entire afternoon for significantly cheaper than the combined cost of the individual shows which will allow you to save money just by seeing more than one show.

We’re working on a ticket system of Pay What You Want (With Deposit). You can pay for each show to the tune of whatever you think it is worth – all we ask if is that you initially deposit our Recommended Price so that you have some skin in the game. But simply add or deduct money on the way out to amend your contribution to anywhere between £0 to £100.
