Self-proclaimed pyjama-jazz singer-songwriter Rosey PM plays live as a soulful four-piece, sharing songs about boys and goo with a witty effervescence. Rosey trips over jazz-pop beats and flirts with young romance, wrapping harmonies around lazy-day tunes and hypnotic bass lines.
The Very Most is an indie-pop musical project that exists as the vehicle for the songs of Jeremy Jensen, who lives in Boise, Idaho in the United States of America. It has existed, in some form or another, since 2002, releasing five full-length albums, and, inexplicably, 8 EPs. Seems like they probably could have combined some of those into albums, but so be it. They sing about stuff that matters, like the political situation we’ve found ourselves in, and stuff that maybe in the grand scheme of things might not matter as much as we think it does, like the political situation we’ve found ourselves in. Their sound is sweet and layered and inspired by Brill Building, Johnny Marr, Brian Wilson and fellow Boiseans Built to Spill, who they’ve shared the stage with. They’ve played popfests of the New York, San Francisco, and Sacramento varieties, as well as Indietracks. On this tour, which happens to be their third of Ireland and the UK, they are joined by Jim Rivas, who provided drums on Rocketship‘s seminal indiepop classic A Certain Smile, A Certain Sadness. They have a new album, Needs Help, due out in autumn/winter 2020.
Katie Pham & The Moonbathers squeeze out soulful pop music about being indecisive. All their best music hasn’t been released yet, so watch out.
