Rollups, Ombudsmen & Tinted Lens all grace the sound washed stage ofManchester’s Castle Hotel on Saturday 7th February.
Guzzle down this lovely hot bowl of Mancunian aural broth. Sometimes it’s a bit lumpy, sometimes it’s got a bit of skin on top, but this all adds to the charm of Rollups, Ombudsmen & Tinted Lens’ sweet, sweet tang.
Rollups – Jangly atmosphere merchants with half sung, half spoken vocals with almost conversational lyrics, make up some smoothly crafted indie pop.
Ombudsmen – Rave beats and contrary melodies dance around angelic to temper tantrum laden vocals. Every edge of the punk/psych/electro vista is explored.
Tinted Lens – Paul McCartney said they do “the best harmonies since the Beatles”. This underpins some very danceable and emotional funk rock.
