Ragged University Presents Two Talks with Ursula Harries and Donna Peach

Please note this is an 18+ event

Come along to The Castle Hotel on Oldham Street, Manchester 7pm for two talks, some food and a chance to socialise. Everyone is invited to bring some food and drink to put on the table to share if they like, or to bring what they will enjoy themselves.  Everyone is also invited to help take away what is left to make sure nothing goes to waste.

Riding Through History by Ursula Harries

I will be talking about the inspiration behind ‘Riding Through History’ and telling you where we’ve ridden and some of our riding companions 🙂 as well as where we’ll ride next? We welcome sharing Manchester bike stories. Since 2013, Riding Through History has been exploring history and sharing their knowledge of Manchester history in a series of heritage cycle tours

A Critical Examination of Self by Donna Peach

We will traverse several theoretical paths to explore how we can understand people who want to become parents without pregnancy. In doing so, we will problematize concepts of motherhood that are anchored to maternal instincts and demonstrate the gap between how recruitment campaigns construct who is an adoptive parent and people’s personal experiences.

No need for a ticket

It is all entirely free

Plenty of food for everyone

Everyone is welcome!
