Hailing from Greater Manchester, 40,000 Leagues are a rising force within the Manchester metal scene. Formed in 2016, the five-piece have been gigging, rehearsing and tirelessly reworking their sound and image in order to construct a dynamic blend for their live shows; whilst also adding an air of unpredictability much sought out in a live band.  40,000 Leagues set themselves apart from the crowd with face-meltingly powerful riffs and evocative, intrinsic lyrics combined with a dominating stage presence and a consistency that cuts through the saturated sounds of the underground.

Their debut release, ‘A New Beginning’, establishes their signature adrenaline-pumping sound in ‘From the Sky’ and ‘Defcon’, which is juxtaposed by the surprisingly tranquil, ballad epic ‘Heaven Sent’. The whole e.p. presents a maturity to the group’s sound and firmly displays their ambitions to push themselves both musically and figuratively to the centre of the stage.
