Kastella are a Manchester-based indie rock band that formed in March 2018. The band is made up of four members: James Hartley (Vocals and guitar), Jack Ofield (Guitar), Callum Thomson (Drums), and Matt Hulme (Bass).
They got together when James left his old band in an attempt to start a solo project. However, Jack got in touch with him suggesting they should try again with a band. James accepted and contacted Callum, who was the drummer in his previous band, before recruiting bassist Matt – who went on to name the band.
The band released their first EP titled ‘Find the Time’ which consists of the four songs ‘Come on’, ‘Fell Down’, ‘Find the Time (Daydream)’, and ‘Yesterday’ in the summer of 2018. Since then the band have played a string of live shows including a set at the British Sound Project and headline gigs in Manchester and Glasgow.
On 14 December 2018, Kastella released their latest single ‘World Stops Turning’. The song was featured on BBC Lancashire on their ‘Introducing’ segment.
