Cork band God Alone are joining us as part of their UK tour at Manchester’s Castle Hotel on Sunday 7th November. This will be a cracking all-dayer with support from some of our heavier favourites including Chihuahua, Horsemeat, Rude Films, Slab, Deh-Yey, Astral Bodies and more.
God Alone shows have been described as a cathartic experience. Moshing, dancing and crying are all encouraged. The band’s self-description “Sad metal with dancey bits” might be somewhat reductive but is no less accurate.
Their sound is a purgative, esoteric and learned fusion of black metal and shoegaze forming the foundation of dizzying moods and textures. Folkish twangs resonate at the apex of the dark, jagged crevasses. Overblown auto-tuned vocals sit atop progressive passages, recalling math-rock and late noughties R&B and hip hop all at once.
