Internationally assembled post-punk/grunge band GHUM headline the first ever Balloon Machine presents – a night curated by the up-and-coming Alternative & DIY music blog.
Hailing from Spain, Brazil and London, GHUM bring together a mesmerizing, diverse mix of grunge, dark pop and post-punk.
Following their 2016 self-titled EP, GHUM returned in style this month with ‘Get Up’, the first single from their forthcoming EP ‘The Coldest Fire.’ Track of the day on Get In Her Ears and named as one of For The Rabbits‘ ‘Five Things We Liked This Week’, ‘Get Up’ whips up a virulent storm with its’ winning combination of gnarly vocals, fraught guitars and pulsating bass.
Known in the capital for their immersive, angular live performances, Ghum are not a band to miss.
Support comes from Glasgow-based band Aufbau Principle who create caustic and doomed post-punk. Taking influence from the early 80’s dark Manchester sound as well as gothic cinema, Aufbau Principle create music from the shards of broken relationships, doomed cityscapes and existential nightmares.
